Come evening time and you haven’t got no where near the amount of tasks accomplished that you originally planned?

Sounds familiar?

You’re far from alone on this one, but lets see. So where DO you actually spend your time?

A simple – again, don’t underestimate simplicity – and easy way to figure this out is to bring out the auld pen & paper again.

Write down EVERY time you go on any social media!

Especially if you get sucked in to FB, IG or any other social media, by all means THAT certainly makes the list.

‘But this was really important!’
Yeah, write it down.

‘Yeah, but I had to because…’
Again, it goes on the list.

Ya might be surprised how much exactly of the time you DO spend on those places.

Catch is, even if you ONLY spend a couple of minutes there – which, by the way, can easily turn in to 30-60 min! – then what you are actually doing is DISRUPTING whatever it was you already had your focus on! And THAT is the real cost on browsing on the social medias.

Yes, it’s the fact that ‘just checking’ something easily turns in to an hour even, but much is the break in the focus you already had.

Cause stopping and starting takes off a big scrap of your time, surprisingly much so. It can be as much as 20% or more just in shifting your focus from one project to another (and, of course, adding social media not helping).

You DO have an option though.

You see, the social medias DO have benefits and you can absolutely play them to your benefit. You just need to have enough discipline to make it work for you – not the other way around.

How?

You’ll get there easily when your life is so filled doing what you love, that you’ll see it differently. You won’t want to spend too much of your time there, cause you’ll be busy LIVING your life! 🙂
